Less good players on Montreal now than last time Pittsburgh played them (Penguins)

Pittsburgh travels to Montreal tonight for Hockey Night in Canada. The Canadiens won’t look like the same team they did the last time the two faced each other. Marc Bergevin remains strangely employed by the team and continues to have control over the roster. Since last year he has traded Max Pacioretty and Alex Galchenyuk. He continues a trend of trading away the Canadiens more talented players. Here is what the Canadiens look like tonight courtesy of Daily Faceoff

Shea Weber is still out for a few months due to offseason knee surgery. Who would have thought that trading for Weber who is a physical player and already 30 would carry consequences like this?

Montreal is in a bad place and I don’t see a lot of light at the end of the tunnel. Carey Price is on a horrendous contract and while he is still capable of solid play by the time the team figures it out his contract is going to be a terrible value.

As for Pittsburgh they will bring the same lineup they had the other night into Montreal that was able to put up seven goals on the defending champs.
