The Islanders have placed forward Nikolay Kulemin on injured reserve this morning. Kulemin took a nasty hit from Eric Gryba in the second period Tuesday against the Edmonton Oilers and did not return to the game.
The 31-year-old has been a non factor this season, scoring one goal in 13 games.
Alan Quine was recalled from Bridgeport. The forward was on a conditioning stint with the Sound Tigers. In four games, Quine scored one goal.
Since Quine was already on the 23-man roster and Kulemin has beenplaced on IR, there is an open roster spot. Josh Ho-Sang perhaps?
