The Los Angeles Kings fell to the Vegas Golden Knights yesterday, losing 5-1.

Then only a minute into the second period, Jack Eichel got a great pass out front to Chandler Stephenson, who scored to increase the lead. While Phillip Danault did bury a puck in front to cut the lead to one, Mattias Janmark scored on a rebound later to put Vegas back ahead by two after 40 minutes.

Los Angeles put together a great third period effort, outshooting Vegas 19-4 in an attempt to get back into the game. However, they couldn’t beat Logan Thompson and a late empty net goal from Alex Pietrangelo, followed by another goal from Michael Amadio after that, gave Vegas the 5-1 win.

The Kings didn’t have a poor effort, outshooting Vegas 39-24, but they couldn’t capitalize on their chances. They put together a great third period and again, they’re missing a ton of players from their lineup.

KINGS SIGN TAYLOR WARD

The Kings also announced yesterday that they’ve signed forward Taylor Ward to an entry-level contract for the 2022-23 season, which carries a $842,500 cap hit.
