The Leafs take on the Washington Capitals at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday in the final game of a three-game homestand, and will once again shuffle their fourth line and defensive pairings as part of a late-season rotation and perhaps a bit of load management prior to the playoffs. The constant on the fourth line following the trade with Seattle has been Colin Blackwell. The pesky forward began playing on the wing and after becoming more familiar with the Leafs system has shifted to center and played on special teams. "It's a different style of hockey that I'm used to, usually my game is a lot of forechecking and bringing a lot of energy, and then kind of chipping pucks behind the (defense)," Blackwell said. "We try to play similar to that, but it's also a little bit more possession-based, offensive-minded and for me, playing with new players and just trying to find that chemistry a little bit with some of the guys that I've been playing with and knowing where they're going to be. I think I got nine or 10 games under my belt now and slowly get more comfortable."
