The Buffalo Sabres skated this morning per their regular schedule. They host the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night.
Evander Kane and all of his teammates, including pending UFAs Dmitry Kulikov, Cody Franson, Brian Gionta and Anders Nilsson were represent and accounted for.
After the skate, Kane told media that the gorgeous goal he scored off the two on one rush off a zesty Brian Gionta sauce was just a subtle reminder to the Sabres and the rest of the NHL if what types of plays he is capable of executing.
"I wanted to remind some people of what I'm capable of."
Kane said he will have his phone on him while he goes for a pizza as the 3 p.m. NHL trade deadline approaches.

In the past 48 hours, Habs GM Marc Bergevin has added a ton of grit and nastiness in Jordie Benn, Brandon Davidson, Steve Ott, and Dwight King. Tough hombres to be certain.
Bergevin has traded away Greg Pateryn, David Desharnais, two fourth round and one sixth round draft picks.
The million dollar question of the day:
When will Bergevin add a scoring winger to his top six group to help his team score goals?
Teams will be looking to play hard against Max Pacioretty, who now has 30 goals on the season. The second leading goal scorers are Alex Radulov and Alex Galchenyuk with 15 goals. Shea Weber and Paul Byron have 14 goals apiece.
Bergevin needs to add more goal scoring today.
The Habs were shutout on Martin Hanzal and Alex Burrows trades. It's not known yet if the Habs were a player to land Thomas Vanek before he shipped off the Jagrville. My guess is that the Habs were in on Vanek, too.
The LA Kings traded a conditional pick to Colorado for Jarome Iginla.
The Habs have been connected to Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog, but the price of poker is way to high for 29 NHL GMs.
I recently spoke with an NHL executive who told me that he thought Evander Kane would be a perfect fit for the Canadiens.
Montreal enters tonight's action with 175 goals scored in 64 games played (2.73 GPG), which ranks 13th in the NHL.
On Tuesday night, Kane scored his 22nd goal of the season, his 21st even strength goal since December 1.
Marc Bergevin may not want to part with top prospects Mikhail Sergachev (first round 2016) nor Michael McCarron (first round 2013), but he may not have a choice right now. NHL systems coaches will find a way to shut down Pacioretty in the playoffs. Then, Radulov and Galchenyuk will be eliminated by opponents.
Who will carry the Habs offense then?
