Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jake Gardiner has been cleared to resume his playing career, according to general manager Don Waddell.
Don Waddell says that the team received notice yesterday that Jake Gardiner has been fully cleared to play hockey again.

The defender missed the entirety of the 2021-22 season after having hip and back surgeries.
It’s great to see that Gardiner is healthy and able to play hockey again, following a lot of injury trouble. It does make for a bit of an interesting situation for the Hurricanes, however, given that he won’t be placed on LTIR and his contract will fully count against the cap.
