The Islanders have placed Jaroslav Halak on waivers.
The 31-year-old Halak has struggled mightily in 2016, with just six wins and a .904 save percentage in 21 games. The final straw for Isles general manager Garth Snow appeared to come Thursday night, too, when Halak was lifted after he allowed four goals on 24 shots in a loss to the Wild.
Halak, with a $4.5 million cap hit, has one more season left after this on his current deal.
Are the Kings interested?
