The Islanders have placed defenseman Johnny Boychuk on injured reserve with a lower body injury and recalled Sebastian Aho from Bridgeport.
Boychuk is considered week-to-week. Aho has has a very successful first half for the Sound Tigers. He has 20 points in 29 games and is second in AHL defensemen goal scoring with nine.
