The New York Islanders have agreed to a five-year contract extension with forward Cal Clutterbuck with an average annual value of $3.5 million per season.
It may be a year or two too long and it may be half a million too much per season but this team could not have afforded to lose Clutterbuck, who is again on the best fourth line in hockey again with Casey Cizikas and Anders Lee, with two goals, nine points, and 89 hits in 25 games.
