The Islanders venture to the Twin Cities tonight as they draw the short straw of playing one of the hottest team in the league. New York squares off with the Minnesota Wild who are winners 11 straight games.
IF the Isles have any chance of getting back into this race for a playoff spot then they need a similar streak. New York have won three straight but tonight will be quite the undertaking.
The lineup will remain the same and Jaro Halak will be in between the pipes. The team is actually receiving some secondary scoring as Alan Quine seems to have sparked Andrew Ladd. Honestly, whatever works. Ryan Strome is also showing some signs of life and Anders Lee looks like a strong and confident player.
John Tavares has been quiet of late and you have to think there is a three or four point game in his near future.
Speaking of the future, Josh Ho-Sang returned to the Sound Tigers lineup last night. You can thank our interview with him for this. I'm joking, if we had that power John Tavares would have a winger. Ho-Sang scored and added a pretty assist on the game winning goal in Overtime. Ryan Pulock also scored making it three straight games with a goal for the young blue liner.
At some point the dead weight on the Isles roster has to be opened up for some of these players as it still blows my mind that a kid with 105 mph slap shot can't help a struggling power play.
