The Islanders have signed forward Stephen Gionta to a one year, two way deal. In twenty-six games with the Islanders last season, Gionta recorded one goal and five assists. In the AHL, he had three points in seven games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Gionta will make 650 thousand in the AHL and 225 thousand dollars in Bridgeport, which man that is some nice coin to live on the beach and play some minor league hockey. This deal will add some depth at that level and Gionta was solid when called upon to step in for the big club.
