Whenever a team that is expected to win goes down in the playoffs, especially after so many great seasons followed by disappointment, there are murmurs of change.
I have gone on the record saying the Caps shouldn't change anything drastically...Sometimes you are just snake bit in the playoffs or there is one team that has your number...The Caps may just be the second best team right now.
And I wouldn't initiate any conversations to move Ovechkin...at all...But maybe, and what if, AO wants a new scene. He doesn't appear thrilled with the current situation in Washington and may be quietly looking for a fresh start with a little less pressure...
Maybe it is time to look at that....and George McPhee sure wants to make a splash in the desert and bring excitement to the Vegas Knights...Could there be any possible way McPhee could offer a series of great picks and futures to possibly make such a move happen?
It feels very unlikely, but one can only imagine how many future players the Caps could add in such move...
I really don't believe Ovechkin is going anywhere, and I don't trust anyone right now who thinks he might be...but you have to at least look at it right now...The Caps are absolutely in for an interesting summer...
What would you do?
