After losing the Jets 4-2 on Monday, the Coyotes season was pretty much over.
Just not literally.
But now? Who knows.
It isn't looking good. I am not a doctor, and you should in no way take medical advice from me, but resuming the season any time before next season seems extremely unlikely to me.
Maybe if the response wasn't comically botched as if someone had put a random celebrity in charge of things, it may have been, but who knows.
Anyways, not looking good, and for the Coyotes, that probably isn't so bad (at least in hockey terms).
Taylor Hall, it was nice knowing you.
Having played more games than the team they are trying to catch, as well as the two teams ahead of them but not in the playoffs, the odds of the Coyotes making the playoffs were bleak to begin with.
It probably won't matter, but if it does turn out that they somehow play the rest of this season, the Coyotes likely are just playing out the stretch.
And good riddance.
The problems of this team have been hidden by great goaltending for far too long. Chayka tries to ice competitive teams, and I like that, but the Coyotes inability to recognize that there is virtually no difference between mid range players earning millions, and replacement players is frustrating as hell.
If the season is over, the Coyotes don't make the playoffs.
They weren't going to anyways.
Anyways, I hope everyone is safe, and trying to have fun. I will attempt to make this blog as surreal and weird as possible in the coming days, censorship pending.
As always, I love you all,
Jimmy
