Some quick hits this am as I keep calling around to get the latest in the Rumor World...
The Knights have signed Nate Schmidt to a 6-year extension with an AAV of $5.95 Million.
Love that the Knights did this after Nate (in my opinion) really got screwed by his suspension...Also it should be noted that Nate's agent, Matt Keator, is one of the good guys in the agency business and he knew that Vegas was the best place for Nate to continue his career...It's always good to see when an agent allows a player to maybe take a little less to be in a better position to succeed.
Varlamov has been ridiculous....
A lot of people thought that the addition of Grubauer would mean the departure of Varlamov, but all it has done is made Varly play like the best goalie in the NHL.. He has 1 loss in six games and leads the league in save percentage at .953... Also, I COMPLETELY Screwed up on my prediction on the Avalanche not being a playoff team..When you have the best line in the NHL and two killer goalies you are going to make the playoffs...

and finally...
I would pay to see the Leafs and Jets play for a Stanley Cup.
If the NHL team that you love is mere mortal then watching the Jets and Leafs play last night was eye opening..These teams can fly. The game last night really showed how powerful both teams are and I know the Jets could play better still...
