Burke will remain on loan with the Colorado Eagles (AHL).https://t.co/GpalP5Fxep
Burke is a 26-year-old winger, who’s also on a one-year deal. He played two games with the Avalanche last season, but has spent the last three seasons with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles. Last season, Burke scored 16 goals and 39 points in 70 AHL games.
Due to the fact the Hurricanes don’t currently have an AHL affiliate (Jones had been assigned to the Eagles before the trade anyways), Burke will continue to play for the the Eagles this season.
It’s unlikely that Burke will get much of an opportunity with the Hurricanes, but if Jones wasn’t making the roster anyways, it’s not much of a loss for Carolina. Jones may get a better opportunity in Colorado.
