The Carolina Hurricanes announced yesterday that they’ve signed forward Andrew Poturalski to a one-year contract, which carries a $750,000 cap hit.

Since then, he’s spent two years with the Anaheim Ducks’ organization, playing with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls. This past season, Poturalski scored nine goals and 43 points in 44 games, which was good enough to lead the Gulls in points.
While it’s unlikely Poturalski will win a spot with the Hurricanes, he should play a key role with the Chicago Wolves next season.
