The Hurricanes have eight games remaining in the season and currently sit in first place in the East Division. In terms of a first round opponent, things are still pretty up in the air. As of now, we can essentially narrow it down to either the Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators or Tampa Bay Lightning. The remaining regular season games will be crucial to determine seeding and ensure the Hurricanes have the most favourable matchup possible.
