Jack Eichel is not going to be donning the “C… on his sweater when the Sabres take the ice against the Montreal Canadiens tonight.
Eichel likely be named captain of the Sabres at a later date. Give it 20 games. Eichel likely will be named captain by December 1. I predict that Eichel will be Sabres captain when the Sabres host the NY Rangers at the Winter Classic.
Eichel signed his spanking new eight year, $80 million contract on Wednesday.
For now, Phil Housley and Jason Botterill are content to roll out of the gates with a four-man leadership cluster. The leaders are:
Ryan O’Reilly, Zach Bogosian, Kyle Okposo, and Jack Eichel.

Bogosian will not skate tonight due to a lower body ailment. I expect to see Rasmus Ristolainen wearing Bogosian’s “A… against Montreal.
