Habs recall Caufield, is this the right way to handle their star?Thu's Buzz (NHL trade rumors)

After a stint in the AHL to try and get his mojo back the Canadiens have recalled Cole Caufield. The Canadiens sent Cole down after he only picked up 1 assist in his first ten games this season, despite taking a ton of shots for the Habs. For the Laval Rocket Caufield had 2 goals and 3 assists in six games.

The Montreal Canadiens are obviously trying to take some pressure off of the kid, but after the way everything went down with Jesperi Kotkaniemi it's fair to ask if Montreal now has a serious issue in the handling of their young stars?

Time will tell here, but Caufield's trip down to the Rocket wasn't exactly a smooth one...

Sending a player like Caufield down isn't "crazy" by NHL standards, but we have seen some NHL coaches who are able to revive a young player while still with the NHL squad. However, this is the kind of coaching that Montreal hasn't shown a lot of during this regime, which has been more apt to sit young players and only through injury begrudgingly bring them into the line-up. Caufield, Kotkaniemi and Romanov all were scratched early in the playoffs...

Do you think Montreal handled Caufiled the best way possible?
