On Henri Richard's Passing....
Very saddened today at passing of Canadien Legend Henri Richard. The Hall-of-Famer won ELEVEN Stanley Cups in his 20 year career in Montreal. No professional athlete has won more pro championships. Henri played with his perhaps even more famous brother, Maurice Richard for 5 years together on the Habs. Both players could flat out fly which of course gained them the nicknames "The Rocket" and "The Pocket Rocket." Henri's last season was 1973-74... My thoughts are with his family, and the entire hockey world who will all feel this loss...
Last night's Predictions: 4-6 Ever curious why you SHOULD NEVER bet on hockey games? We lost three games in the OT/Shootout last night. Those outcomes turned what could have been a 7-3 night for our projections into a 4-6 night.
Thoughts on last night's games...
*The Wild are in a playoff spot kids! They are playing some amazing hockey and are fun team to watch right now.
*5 goals from Z! The Rangers/Caps game was the most exciting game to watch last night. A classic 6-5 OT battle.
* The Flyers find themselves tied on top of the Metro Division as the continue to just roll. Last night's game showed why this sport should be called "Goalie." Carter Hart continues to be money at home in Philly, and Carolina, still missing their top two keepers, are losing so many points right now after choosing not to address this issue at the deadline...The could have had Lehner for the first-round pick they used to bolster their defense.
*Kings and Sens continue to spoil! The Islanders lost another one to the Sens. The Kings and Leafs, two teams who are terrible defensively OF COURSE would take a 0-0 tie to a shootout.
*A 2-0 victory for the Preds over the Stars was exactly what the doctor ordered last night...The win was important, the shutout was enormous.
*The Panthers played a tough game against the Bruins. Historically the Panthers always play Boston tough...they got 1 big point, but really needed 2...
*The Hawks needed to beat the Oilers and they found a way to hold off the Oilers...Another very strong game...it's hard to not think Chicago is going to make this even MORE interesting...
