Follow @james_tanner123 Over the last eight or so months, I've been pulling double duty on the buzz, covering both the Arizona Coyotes and the Washington Capitals.
Unfortunately, by trying to cover two teams I was getting into a cycle of never ending game previews and recaps. The fact is, by splitting between both teams, I wasn't able to watch or follow either team deep enough to do what I consider a good job.
My view is that there is a ton of places where you can get game previews, breaking news and post-game recaps. The reason you'd come and read my stuff is that it would be entertaining and a bit different from what everyone else was doing - perhaps offering a different or unusual perspective.
When I was covering just the Coyotes, I was able to take the NHL's least popular team and earn a readership worthy of a much more popular team. But by trying to cover the Capitals as well, I think I just ended up doing both jobs too generically.
So, I am stepping away from the Coyotes. I will henceforth only be covering the Washington Capitals.
This is bitter-sweet because I developed a legitimate affinity for the Coyotes over the last four years, but at the same time, they also suck. You do run out of ways to talk about how much so.
The Capitals do not suck. They are in first place! Good times.

The Capitals haven't played since beating the Hurricanes on Tuesday. Their next game is tomorrow where they will host the Blues.
The Capitals are first in their division, second in the East, and sixth in the NHL.
Matt Niskanan is expected to return from injury tomorrow.
Ovechkin is currently tied for 1st in NHL goal scoring with 26 and has scored over 20% of the Capitals goals.
This should be fun.

The New U2 album is really great. It's incredibly underrated and I recommend everyone pick up a copy. I wasn't expecting much, but I picked it up and it's a late career masterpiece. Five stars, and one of the five best records of 2017.

Coyotes final thoughts:
The Coach is the worst in the NHL.
The team is on the verge of something special. They might not do anything worth caring about this season, but Dylan Strome, Clayton Keller and OEL are a fantastic foundation.
John Chayka is going to have a great NHL career. This guy makes solid trades and it's not his fault how bad the team has been this year. Or, mostly not.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson remains criminally underrated.
