The streak is over. It happens in hockey and this is the high of the 2022 year for the Jackets and the season. Patrik Laine with 13 goals and 8 assists in 11 games. Werenski and Jenner’s best hockey stretch. Yet with no starting goaltender.
Carolina embarrassed the Jackets 4-0 in Raleigh, completing their season series contests. The Canes got goals from Jordan Staal, Nino Niederriter, Vincent Throchek, and Teuvo Terrivanen. Fredderik Andersen stopped everything for Carolina.
Columbus was without Zach Werenski, as he sustained an injury in the win against Florida. According to sources, the Jackets are also shopping forward Alexandre Texier, and are wanting a first round pick and a prospect. I cannot confirm the truth behind this at this time, since the reports have been recent. Texier doesn’t seem like a type of player Kekalainen would want to move, since Tex is a younger player and would be a benefit to keep in this retool in Columbus.
Thoughts? More to come…
