The Montreal Canadiens traded captain Max Pacioretty to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for Tomas Tatar, Nick Suzuki, and a second-round draft pick, the team confirmed late Sunday night.

Pacioretty is entering the final year of his current contract that comes with a $4.5 million cap hit, and is coming off a 17-goal, 37-point season with the Canadiens.
