What else can you say about last night's Game 1 of the Western Conference Final?! Mike Smith has rebounded over and over again from pour outings, so can he do the same thing come Game 2 on Thursday night?! The Oilers only allowed one goal after they pulled him and the empty netter with 21 seconds left.
Now onto Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals with the TB Lightning coming off a 9 day break as they visit the NY Rangers tonight in what should be a battle of two of the best goaltenders in today's game. The Lightning is favoured in the series -175 and NYR +150 are a small dog. The long rest usually hurts teams believe it or not, as many NHL teams would welcome a 3-5 day rest during the playoffs, but over a week it actually starts to affect teams as it sounds like TB has been doing everything possible to get that game simulation over the last three days to try to stay sharp. I truly feel this will hurt them in Game 1, even with NYR coming off their second straight seven-game series. In fact, the Rangers will be more than game ready, and having home-ice advantage will give them that extra adrenalin rush.
When looking at the first period lines, Tie no bet, TB -140, and NYR +105, I lean huge to NYR as they are game sharp! The first period total is u1.5 -120 and I see TB playing it very close to the vest, lean to the under.
Player props, Fox/Kreider/Zibanajed are all in the -115 to -150 over 0.5 points is very enticing due to their lethal PP on home-ice! A sleeper for shots on goal is Copp for NYR, take a look at it over 1.5 shots.
I would personally stay clear of any player or team props with TB until you see how they look shaking off the rust as they say and then look to Game 2 to take advantage of TB prop lines.
