Frustrations Showing; Kaprizov Match Penalty (Wild)

Two straight games without a Wild goal has the team showing signs of frustration. Star winger Kirill Kaprizov took exception to Drew Doughty and was tossed from last night's game with a match penalty for cross checking.

All match penalties are reviewed by the NHL's department of player safety. Depending on the outcome of that review Kaprizov may or may not be suspended, but the real concern is Kaprizov needs to maintain his composure in these situations

That for sure is easier said than done and the absence of Marcus Foligno and Ryan Hartman to a lesser degree may have triggered Kaprizov to feel that he had to take matters into his own hands. Regardless the Wild absolutely must have Kaprizov period end of story.

Tonight the Wild get the Ducks which should be a welcomed opponent to at least get the offense going again. There are no easy games in the NHL these days however Anaheim has yielded the most goals (61) through 13 games so the opposition presents the Wild with a very good proposition of then ending the scoring drought.

We will see what the NHL decides on Kaprizov later today...

Update: Kaprizov avoids suspension and is assessed a $5K fine for this match penalty from last night. Hopefully this is the last time something like this occurs with Kirill and we continue to talk about his amazing play between the whistles.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
