We hit some big plays last night, with the FL/DAL over coming in before the 2nd period was over on our biggest play of the night! The Pens over and on the ML were solid hits for us along with the Avs over. We missed badly on the Rangers game, but when Mark Stone and Robin Lehner are down as out for another week on the injury report the day before and neither were down to play after the morning skate, then all of a sudden both are in the lineup this is what makes the NHL so second rate when it comes to gambling. The NFL would never allow this as they know how many people gamble on the sport so if the NHL wants all the sportsbooks to drop big sponsorship dollars in the NHL, then Gary Bettman needs to make sure these coaches don't screw around anymore with players availability. It also happened last month with Stone, same situation! The total on the Devils game was a tough one to swallow as both teams have been over machines. Naturally, when I decided to hit them, they lose lol! The Kings outshot the Preds 48-20 and outplayed Nashville in a huge way but found a way to lose for us. I still can't complain as it was another profitable night.
Favs were 7-3 last night but the overs cooled off a bit going 6-4. First period overs were a nice 8-2 though. We only have 2 games tonight after such a big card last night. Analysis below.
CAL/CAR - Great home team vs. a great road team but Carolina was rested last night while the Flames played in TB. Markstrom will get the start in goal as the Flames played Vladar last night. Calgary is playing their 4th game in 6 nights on the road and 5th straight road game. The Canes are very rested having been off since Jan.1st. Strong lean to Carolina -165.
WASH/STL - Same scenario as above, awesome home team vs. great road team but the Caps are soooo banged up, take a look at their injury list. Caps have been off since Sunday and STL has only played once this week and start a 5 game homestand tonight. Slight lean to the over 6 but I really like the Blues. I will wait on injury list updates for the Caps before placing a wager.

The Survivor Hockey Pool is basically the same idea as Survivor Football pools, except picking consistent winners in hockey is a little tougher than it is in football. Our Survivor Hockey pool is all based on the weekend (Sat-Sun) schedule, so you could potentially pick a team against different opponents if they play both days.
How to Play
Entrants pick two teams each weekend of the NHL regular season with the intention of the selection winning. A shootout or OT win, count as your team winning. If the team's selected wins, the entry survives to the following week. If one of the teams selected loses, the entry is eliminated from the pool. If you fail to post your picks before the weekly deadline, your team is eliminated. If all remaining teams lose during a week, they all move on to the next week. The final surviving entry is the winner unless there are multiple teams alive after the final week of the season. Teams may only be selected one time for the duration of the pool. You can't pick a team a second time after you have used that desired team's selection once. If you pick a team in which the game is postponed due to covid, the selection will be canceled, you won't be graded a win or a loss and you will have to pick an additional play the following weekend. We will post a new blog every Friday in which you will post your 2 weekly picks. The picks can't be edited as the system shuts them down and we will take pics of each weekly entry so nobody is trying to cheat. This way everyone can see your picks each week. The deadline for your weekly entry will be at Noon EST every Saturday. The first week's deadline is Saturday, Jan. 1st at Noon EST.
Cost - $100 per entry is payable by Paypal or if you live in Canada, E-transfer is accepted, which is also the quickest way to gain entry. If you choose Paypal allow a few days for the payment to go through so please keep this in mind when registering that we need to receive it before the deadline for week 1 picks need to be posted. The maximum number of entries by any e-mail address or user at hockeybuzz is 3! Once we have your money you will be notified and activated into the contest. Please IM here at hockeybuzz and I will give you the email address for Paypal or the E-transfer. We will release how many entries we have after the deadline so each entrant is aware of the payout at the end of the contest.
