In the next-to-last game of the preseason schedule, the Flyers will host the Boston Bruins at the Wells Fargo Center on Monday evening. Game time is 7:00 p.m. EDT. The game will be televised on NBC Sports Philadelphia. The radio broadcast is on 97.5 The Fanatic.
The Flyer will dress a mostly "A" lineup up front with a mixture of NHL roster players and bubble guys on defense. Bruins, meanwhile, will feature more of a B lineup in this road game.
Notably, with two opening night roster spots available for the Flyers among the forwards in camp, all three candidates -- Wade Allison, Tyson Foerster, and Bobby Brink -- will be in the Philadelphia lineup for this game. Samuel Ersson will go the distance in goal (at least a hint that he has the inside track ahead of Cal Petersen and Felix Sandström for the opening night backup spot behind Cater Hart). Cam Atkinson will dress for the second time in the preseason, and Sean Couturier will play his third preseason game.
John Tortorella will be behind the Flyers' bench to coach the final two games of the preseason. Lehigh Valley Phantoms head coach and Flyers assistant coach Rocky Thompson handled the first four games, while Tortorella observed from the pressbox. For a five-point preview of tonight's game (written before the morning skate, but hitting the major themes of what the Flyers are looking for), see today's Five Things on the Flyers' official website.
