Preseason Gameday: Flyers vs. Capitals
In the third of six games on their preseason docket, the Flyers will host the Washington Capitals at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday evening. Game time is 7:00 p.m. EDT. The game will be televised on NBCSP+.
The Flyers are 0-1-1 in the exhibition season to date. On Friday, the Flyers "A" group in practice consisted of NHL roster players (plus junior-aged prospect Elliot Desnoyers). Lineups for Saturday's game will be updated after the morning skate. On Friday, these were the line combos (mostly unchanged throughout the first week of camp).

The Flyers made three roster cuts on Saturday morning: Goalie Kirill Ustimenko and ATO defensemen Quinn Schmiemann and Jackson van de Leest were assigned to the Phantoms.
The Capitals, like the Flyers, are 0-1-1 in the preseason to date although the team puck possession analytics in games against Boston and New Jersey skewed in Washington's favor. For Saturday's game in Philadelphia, numerous prominent Caps players -- Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Bà¤ckström, T.J. Oshie, John Carlson and Dmitry Orlov -- are not expected to be on the trip. Regulars who are expected to dress include Evgeny Kuznetsov, Tom Wilson, Anthony Mantha, Nick Jensen and Justin Schultz.
Ilya Samsonov is expected to get his second start of the preseason. He's slated to play the full game in net.
