Flyers Confirm Camillo Departure, Internal Promotions (Flyers)

Valerie Camillo, the president and CEO of Spectacor Sports and Entertainment, will be stepping down from her positions with the Flyers' parent company and within the Flyers' organization, effective July 1. Anthony San Filippo was the first to break the story.

In an internal message to employees, Comcast Spectacor chairman and CEO and Flyers governor Dan Hilferty stated that Camillo's departure was of her own choosing. There were also streamlining of executive management, as Spectacor Sports and Entertainment will no longer be a separate entity from Comcast Spectacor. Hilferty wrote that Camillo's leadership team "will continue to work in collaboration with me."

Camillo has been with the Flyers organization since 2018. Over her five years, she oversaw business operations and capital projects, most notably the large-scare renovations that have taken place at the Wells Fargo Center in recent years as well as business ventures and partnerships at the facility. One of Camillo's primary initiatives over her tenure was to focus on greatly increased diversity across the organization.

“As one of our senior leaders, Valerie has helped successfully drive many of our businesses forward. Since joining the company just a few months ago, I have been excited about her work on transforming the Wells Fargo Center into a new, state-of-the-art arena, as well as by the business development opportunities for the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia Wings, and Maine Mariners," Hilferty wrote.

“As Valerie departs, her leadership team will continue to work in collaboration with me. Additionally, with our recent hiring of Keith Jones as president of hockey operations and Danny Briere as general manager of the Philadelphia Flyers, I’m energized by the leadership team we have in place on the hockey side of our company. That, on top of the outstanding work being done by all of you across the organization, I’m excited about our company’s future."

Additionally, the organization announced several internal promotions. Blair will serve as chief of administration and financial officer. She will also chair Flyers Charities and will serve as alternate governor for the Flyers.

Todd Glickman will serve as Chief Revenue Officer and oversee governmental affairs.

John Master will serve as chief legal officer and strategic officer, as well as an alternate governor.

Phil Laws has been named president of the Wells Fargo Canter.

Flyers President of Hockey Operations Keith Jones will have alternate governor added to his job title.

The Flyers fiscal calendar runs from July 1 to June 30 of the next year. As such, Camillo's departure will coincide with the start of the 2024 fiscal year.
