Flames and Stars Gameday (Flames)

Edit: It’s been announced that Brad Richardson is in the lineup. More on that later. Lines will be adjusted as soon as they become available.

With the chaos of Jack Eichel nearly being sent to Calgary, it’s easy to forget today is a game day. This may surprise you, but the Flames haven’t played the Stars since game six of the 2020 NHL Playoffs. A lot has happened to both teams since then. The Stars have dealt with major injury issues. Miro Heiskanen has further solidified himself as one of the league’s best defensemen and is in year one of an 8x8.45 contract.

Zero Flames reporters are posting the lines, so here is the most likely line configuration for today’s game against Dallas:

Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk Coleman-Backlund-Pitlick Mangiapane-Dube-Lucic Richardson-Monahan-Lewis

Hanifin-Andersson Kylington-Tanev Zadorov-Gudbranson

Markstrom

Duehr is getting his shot Management clearly told him to wait for a spot to open up and he would be getting the call. Walker Duehr showed excellent speed to go with his 6’2… 210 lb frame. Tonight he plays in his first NHL game. He has two goals and one assist in five games down in Stockton.

Dallas struggling The 3-4-2 Stars are yet to win a game in regulation. Several of their key offensive players have been failing to produce. Playoff heroes Roope Hintz and Joel Kiviranta have an assist each on the season. Expect a tight-to-the-belt game.

Khudobin starts Anton Khudobin is carrying a .889 save percentage and has been involved in three games. He only has one start this season. A loss to the Senators where he allowed three goals on 27 shots.

Enjoy the game,

Trevor Neufeld
