No one ranked him higher than 15th and 2 sources ranked him at 41st. One thing seems to be certain about rankings, Yzerman makes his own. For better or for worse, these lists don’t seem to phase his decision making. The unfortunate part you’ll notice about this clip is that much of the scoring is done by Will Smith, ranked to go 5th in this same lineup. At 5’11…, (though we saw Edvinsson grow 2 inches post draft)) Perrault’s skating, patience and decision making certainly jump off the page.
The Sporting News has Detroit picking Eduard Sale (RW) at 9th and Nate Danielson (C) at 18th.

Danielson at 18th is a bit of a surprise as his rankings overall are higher than Gabe Perrault. The 6’1… Center checks some boxes for me personally. We need another top 6 center. The right shot centerman seems equally at home making plays and destroying water bottles. Here are some of his projected rankings:
