The game against Tampa was fairly high in intensity and apparently Stamkos got a little banged up. That was a fairly nasty affair at times, we’ll see if the CBJ sees any of the same. Hoping the D and goalie can lock things down a bit.
Raymond was physical, Veleno seems to be jumping into plays well and there were a couple times that Compher and Copp looked like they might be clicking. It’s very early in the season, so hiccups with so many new faces aren’t totally unexpected. Sprong seems to be getting to the net as well as some shots from the circle. Opening against New Jersey and then Tampa saw Detroit having to play at a high pace. It was fun to see the up tempo play but the D is a mixed bag. Seider and Walman can skate and keep plays alive at the blue line, good to see those two reconnecting.
Let me know how you think it will go tonight and who you want to see get on the board. Debrincat had a nice home opener and isn’t shying away from some of the muck after the whistles. He and Larkin can turn on the jets and Raymond looked good on that line. After game 10 it feels like we’ll have a better sample size to see where this team could end up.
