The Anaheim Ducks have traded Chris Wagner to the NY Islanders for Jason Chimera. This is a done deal.
Ducks confirm deal for winger Jason Chimera, sending Chris Wagner to Islanders.

The 38-year-old veteran has two goals and nine assists in 58 games with the Isles this season. Looks like the Ducks like the idea of adding old and aging veterans to an old and aging roster.
This move baffles me big time. Chimera has speed and is coming off back-to-back 20-goal seasons but swapping and grey-bearded fourth liner for a younger, durable fourth liner is strange. During an injury filled campaign, Wagner was one of only two Ducks to play in all 64 games this season. Chimera does have 29 points (12g 17a) in 69 career playoff games - so, there's that.
I'm swamped at work but I will have more on this and any other deals that come through later on today. Check back here for updates.
