The Islanders look to extend their four-game winning streak against the Ducks in Anaheim tonight. Jaroslav Halak will get the start in net tonight as head coach Doug Weight has alternated bewteen Halak and Thomas Greiss this season.
Both teams are still searching for their first power play goal of the season. Isles have gone scoreless in 10 attempts, while the Ducks are scoreless in 11 attempts.
Ryan Pulock will once again be scratched. Weight said that he strongly considered playing Pulock tonight but ultimately stayed with Scott Mayfield, who Weight said is very happy with his play.Duck
Why does Mayfield's play have to coincide with Pulock's? Mayfield is playing well and deserves to be out there. Thomas Hickey and Adam Pelech should not be given guaranteed spots in the lineup.
