The Anaheim Ducks suffered their third straight home loss yesterday, falling to the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2.

The Blackhawks tied the game about four minutes into the second frame though, with Filip Roos burying a rebound off a rush. The Ducks did still put 13 shots on net in the period and had some good chances (even if they gave up quite a few as well) but couldn’t convert, as the score remained 2-2 through 40 minutes.
The Ducks limited chances for Chicago in the third period and then with about three minutes to go, Frank Vatrano had a great chance to give the Ducks the lead, but he was robbed by Soderblom on a one-timer off a rush. Then just afterwards, Chicago went the other way and a shot from Tinordi took a few bounces before getting through Stolarz, to put the Blackhawks ahead with not much time to go. Anaheim pressed but couldn’t tie it after that, falling 3-2.
Obviously, it was a disappointing result after a pretty strong game from the Ducks. They put 41 shots on goal and even after the first period, they were certainly getting their chances. Arvid Soderblom made some good saves and the Ducks may have deserved a better fate.
Anaheim still only gave up 22 shots as well, though there were some pretty high-end rush chances allowed. It’s also pretty difficult to blame Anthony Stolarz for any of the goals against.
With the loss, the Ducks drop the third game of their four-game homestand. They’re sitting at a 4-10-1 record so far, at the bottom of the Pacific Division.
Anaheim’s next game will come on Tuesday, as they wrap up the homestand against the Detroit Red Wings.
