mynhldraft.com has Detroit taking Right shot Center Ryan Leonard at 9th and Winger Colby Barlow at 18th. Barlow scored 46 goals and 33 assists in 59 games for Owen Sound. Leonard had 51 goals and 43 assists in the National Development program as well as 11 goals and 9 assists in the USHL and 8 goals and 9 assists in 7 games at the WJC
Leonard is ranked as high as 5th (NHL Central Scouting) and as far back as 12th (The Hockey News). He’s listed as a center on elite prospects but the video has him as a right wing. He played all 3 forward positions this year. I would be more than a little bit surprised if a center like that actually fell to 9, especially performing well on 3 separate stages like that. He scored the OT gold medal winning goal at the WJC. His stock has to be way higher than what I’m seeing here.
