Senators GM Pierre Dorion is making the media rounds today, and indicated that adding forward help is imminent. Before you get all aroused over a potential Matt Duchene or Claude Giroux deal, I caution you to temper your expectations as it will more likely be a depth move than a real impact trade.
It could even be a waiver pickup, as teams waived some talented players yesterday. A quick scan of the waiver wire sees names like Tomas Jurco, Matt Read, Kerby Rychel and Teemu Pulkkinen who could be nice additions at no cost in terms of assets. Given the propensity of the organization to reach back into the past, it might be noted that both Colin Greening and Cory Conacher are also available.
I will post later should something develop, whether it be a big move or small one.
update: The Senators did not claim any player off waivers, so perhaps a trade is in the works.
