Don't you even think about it (dach)

You know what I'm about to say, don't you?

I'm going to say the "P" word and then immediately tell you to wipe it from your vocabulary until April 4th.

This blog is going to be your PSA for "Don't get your hopes up that the Blackhawks will make the playoffs."

I know most of us have accepted that the postseason isn't in the cards this season for Chicago but this 3-game winning streak has people acting a little crazy these days.

Hockey-Reference has the Hawks with a 9.6% playoff chance as of Thursday AM. So, while they are "only" 6 points out, the Hawks would need to continue to win and have 4 or 5 teams above them ALL completely tank.

The odds of that happening are next to zilch.

Don't get burned again, friends!

The 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks are like a high school crush that you think is leading you on, however, there are just being polite and if you would have truly read the signs, you would have realized you had no shot.

The Hawks will take on the Edmonton Oilers tonight. Then they take on the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.

Crawford is expected to start tonight and I would guess Subban gets his first start on Friday.

I'm not sure what the plans on for Crawford (more on that in tomorrow's goaltending blog) but they are really playing with fire here if they expect #50 to be the starter for the next couple of years.

Lastly, Bill Daly has come out and told the GMs the Salary Cap for 2020-21 will fall between $84-$88.2 million next season. That is great news for the Hawks. Maybe Stan could have afforded Lehner? Hmmm….

That's all I have for now. As I said, I will have a juicy "Future of Goaltending in Chicago" blog coming out tomorrow.

Enjoy the game tonight.

See ya out there!
