The New Jersey Devils are back in practice with five players (Nico Hischier, Ryan Graves, Christian Jaros, Jesper Boqvist, and P.K. Subban) coming out of protocol but with two players entering (Tomas Tatar and Jon Gillies).
“It’s good for us. You are exchanging 5 for 2, which is on the positive side. We’ve got a lot of key pieces that are coming back,… said Devils head coach Lindy Ruff.
As the Devils hit the reset button, they will be well rested and have time to practice on their special teams and getting ready for the Buffalo Sabres. Sabres head coach Don Granato and five players have entered the protocol as the Devils head up to Buffalo on Wednesday.

Did anyone catch any of the games yesterday?
Shakir Mukahamadullin has potential of being a strong steady NHL defenseman. Looked poise and got plenty of playing time with Team Russia. Kid is only 19 and has a tremendous upside.
Alexander Holtz looked fast and confident while scoring one goal and one assist for Team Sweden. I have to admit that watching Simon Edvinsson made me wonder if the Devils made the right choice in the last draft.
Luke Hughes and Team USA beat Slovakia 3-2. Hughes had a plus/minus of -1. Hughes did not seem to get as much playing time as his teammates. Hope to see more of him when Team USA plays Switzerland tomorrow at 4:30pm ET.
Taxi Squads
How about call it Ride Share Squads and generate more revenue for the league by selling the naming rights to Lyft or Uber as an official sponsor? Just a thought.
