The Flyers prospects and invitees at the team's Development Camp had off-ice sessions on Saturday, including having their portraits taken by team photographer Lenny Redkoles. Typically, there are also meetings about the purpose of the camp (i.e., it's about working on skills and improving preparations, not a tryout for a roster spot), nutrition and the importance of young players asking questions of the camp veterans and the coaches.
Today, the players will take to the ice for the first time. On-ice sessions will run until September 1.
For a preview and player-by-player analysis of everyone in camp and what each needs to work on over the next year, see the two-part series I wrote for the Flyers official website:
For Covid-related reasons, the Flyers are maintaining the same policies and procedures for Development Camp that they had for the entire 2020-21 season and, previously, for the pre-Bubble training camp prior to the 2020 playoffs. All sessions are closed to the public. There is no locker room access for the media. All interviews will be conducted via Zoom conferences.
Players speaking to the media today: Wade Allison, Morgan Frost, Samu Tuomaala, Cam York and Egor Zamula.
