There is something very special that was stumbled upon in closing out the notes for the past 4 games. That is, drafted players played a big role in the scoring success while for 3 of 4 games the goalies held off a tilted shots on goal situation.

On this trip, Soderblom had a point in every game of the 4 (3 assists, 1 goal). 6th round pick that seems to have grabbed onto a spot. The line of Larkin/Raymond/Kasper is putting up points. Seider, Edvinsson, Berggren, Rasmussen all showing up on the scoresheet. Holland got Larkin, Rasmussen and Berggren drafted, Yzerman got Seider, Edvinsson, Kasper and Soderblom. We’re seeing more picks grab a job and start to push forward. There are several prospects that are being followed (Cossa, Lombardi, Danielson, Tuomisto, Augustine, Buchelnikov, Axel Sandin-Pellikka) with increasing interest. It’s a good thing to see. Below are the goal compilations for all 4 games. Let me know if you have any final thoughts as Detroit has a couple of days before getting back into action.

In Edmonton, Lyon had to stop 45 of 47 shots to get Detroit to the shootout. An insane task for the goalie returning from injury. It was goals from Rasmussen assisted by Berggren and Soderblom along with Larkin assisted by Kasper that got to the shootout where Lucas Raymond won it. Look at the list. Every single player that factored in the scoring was a draft pick. Three from Holland (Larkin, Rasmussen, Berggren) Three by Yzerman (Soderblom, Kasper, Raymond).
