The New Jersey Devils put up a valiant effort against the Columbus Blue Jackets despite losing 4-3. They were without Pavel Zacha, Andreas Johnsson, Nathan Bastian, Jesper Bratt, Yegor Sharangovich, Mason Geersten, and Dougie Hamilton.
Now add Damon Severson and Janne Kuokkanen as they were added to the COVID-19 protocol list today.
As a result, the NHL has postponed the Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning to a later date.
Looking ahead, the Devils play the New York Islanders on Thursday 1/13 at UBS Arena. As of now as I am writing this blog, the game is still on. However, if the NHL decides to postpone that game, the Devils presumably won’t play any more games till Wednesday 1/20 at home against the Arizona Coyotes since the games in Canada (Montreal and Toronto) are postponed as well.
If that happens, hopefully the Devils will be well rested and continue the momentum they built after the Christmas break.
