Defense Rumors>> 46 on Board as Rumor Chart Launches; Wed's Buzz (NHL)

It’s on of my favorite days of the year, even though this is unquestionably one of the least predictable trade deadline I’ve ever covered. It is time to launch the famous Hockeybuzz The Rumor Chart..! However, this year I am in luck as our Senior Writer, and Hockey Hall of Fame Writer, Kevin Allen will be helping me with his many sources and be able to update the Chart as well.

This year we launch with 46 players and many possibilities. New to the chart you may notice about 15 players are listed with only their current team and a percentage. This is because we feel there is a chance these guys move, but we have yet to hear anything specific on where these players could be landing. The number you do see is because Kevin has given his insight on the percentages he feels these players will remain with their current team…

Some rumors to start with…

Lets talk defensemen today. Many of the same teams are in on these guys as you will note…so that means once a team gets a player they will no longer be in on the others. (In all likelihood)

On Rasmus Ristolainen… The Flyers gave up a lot to get him and his play has been ok, not great. There is a feeling that his value remains high however and if the Flyers feel they can get back a first they could move him. Teams interested at this point include Toronto (e4), Pittsburgh and LA….

On Giordano…

As I have written before, Giordano is on the Leafs radar (maybe even more now) and I keep hearing how the Rangers, but my favorite currently at 35% on the chart is Calgary. The Flames are as good as any Canadian team has been in the last twenty years, and this guy belongs there to be a part of it. The percentage is based on the fact that I keep hearing the Flames are working on ways to make this happen..

On Jakob Chychrun…

Kevin and I are still not sold on his moving. The price tag is super high (as it should be) AND they really should be building around him…While everyone would have interest the teams in the chart that we’ve listed are Kings, Rangers, Red Wings, Bruins, Panthers…in that order…(exact percentages on the chart)

On Ben Chiarot…

We are not hearing Toronto in on Chiarot…as some others…Boston (e4) is a definite. But Calgary and the Rangers are right there as well…. He could very well be the first of the big D available to be moved…And that could clear up a lot…
