Damon Severson is a Columbus Blue Jackets member for the next eight years at a cap hit of $6.125M in exchange for the 2023 3rd round pick (80th overall) from the Calgary Flames.
Columbus originally acquired the pick from the Seattle Kraken in the Oliver Bjorkstrand trade, which also included the Winnipeg Jets’ fourth round draft pick.
Severson has 263 points in 647 games, all with the Devils. He was the 60th overall pick in 2012, having him be the longest active Devils’ player on the roster in the 2022-23 year.
This is also the second ever NHL sign and trade, the first being Matthew Tkachuk from Calgary to Florida.
