The Anaheim Ducks announced yesterday that they’ve signed top prospect Cutter Gauthier to a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal kicks in for the current season, and will expire in 2026.

The Ducks are continuing to build what could be a very, very dangerous forward group in the coming years, and Gauthier could be the elite-level goal scorer that the team could use. We can expect there’s a very good chance he bypasses any major time in the AHL and makes the jump right to the NHL next season. Regardless, his debut builds a little bit of excitement, and would be a positive to end the year (in a season where a lot hasn't gone to plan).
The deal comes after a string of entry-level contracts signed by the Ducks in recent weeks, which included signing Tomas Suchanek, Nico Myatovic, Yegor Sidorov, Coulson Pitre, and most recently, Sam Colangelo.
In other news, it was also announced that Jakob Silfverberg will be returning to Brynas in Sweden next season. The news comes after it was confirmed that Silfverberg would be retiring from the NHL at the conclusion of the season. The winger has spent the last 11 seasons with Anaheim.
The Ducks will end their season on Thursday in Vegas.
