Day 1 without hockey and when is the NHL Network and MSG going to start replaying classic games? Will Strat-o-matic come out with a virtual version - since we can't congregate together - replaying the 1972 Canada Cup or other games of note? While this is all mildly tongue in cheek, this is where we are as we wait for additional news and hopefully a vaccine to help treat the virus.
We are now in relatively uncharted waters. When New York missed the playoffs the last few seasons, we knew when the season was to begin again. Now, everything is off the table as we deal with a way more important matter. As a result, we have a somewhat blank slate on which to talk, for better or worse.
I throw it out to you, what would you like to discuss? Happy to gather all the questions and cover as many of those that make sense and within reason (no need for me to be specific) until we get some real news on the path forward in the world and specifically the NHL.
We have in the past covered the All-Time Team, comprised of four forward lines, three defense pairings and two goalies. The same with Best and Worst Trades. Possible ideas include: “your favorite moment/memory at a live game,… “best player in your lifetime,… most underrated player," and "fan favorites." Other might be expansion draft protected list, rule changes, how to handle the remainder of the regular season or playoffs when play resumes or any other suggestions you have. Down the road, if play hasn't resumed, we can start to explore who should be back and not retained on the current team and possible free agent targets.
