Coyotes Trade Deadline Thread: Trade Made! (Coyotes)

The Coyotes are coming off a great win over the Jets to stay afloat in the playoff race, and it's their third win in a row.

The crazy thing isn't even that the Coyotes are in it still despite their injury problems (which I think I've mentioned once or twice) it's that the Coyotes made up ground going 3-6 in the two weeks preceding weeks, and then lost ground after winning three straight.

Anyways, the Coyotes aren't really too heavily featured in any rumours lately because their position prevents selling, but buying would also be problematic. If they do anything else, it's likely to be something that helps in the future, as opposed to your typical deadline day rental.

Weal is 26 and has two points in 19 games playing minutes he wouldn't have gotten if the team was healthy.

Chaput is also 26, and he's got five points in 41 games.

I'll be honest: this is a nonsense trade. Neither of these guys is someone anyone who isn't an extreme hockey enthusiast has ever heard of or ever will. I have no insight to offer here at all.

I'm sure I've seen Jordan Weal in a game before, but I can't remember him doing anything and old Kaputz will most likely go to Tuscon.

If you are in dire need of more information about this blockbuster, I suggest tuning into one of the 24 hour long trade talk marathons on either TSN or Sportsnet where they will no doubt be discussing this one for a good half hour.

"We now go live to Pierre who's currently explaining how hockey works to Jordan Weal's mom. Pierre, please tell us where Weal played in high school and tell us what his favorite uncle's favorite pasta dish is."
