Follow @james_tanner123 While I wait for the game to start, here is some interesting news:
The Coyotes have signed Kevin Ekman-Larsson to an AHL contract.
Oliver Ekman Larsson is the Coyotes best player, and one of the four or five best defenseman in the NHL.
His brother Kevin sounds totally made up, but he is not. I swear.
Kevin Ekman-Larrson or 'big Kev' as he probably likes to be known, was signed to an AHL contract the other day. He will play next season for the Tuscon Roadrunners.
Isn't that cute? I would have kept with the scavenger theme and called the Tuscon Turkey Vultures, but that's just me.
As for the I-can't-believe-his-name-is-Kevin-and-he's-real situation, the word on the street is that his signing has nothing to do with nepotism and that he earned his shot at the AHL the way all Swedes do: battling monsters in the depths of Asgard.
The Ivanka of the NHL, Kevin Ekman-Larsson had two goals and seven points playing for the hadxilfhadsi of the hadlfjdasij league (or something similar) last season.
He is undrafted and is - as far as I know - the only person named Kevin in the entire country of Sweden.
While the Kevster doesn't appear to be NHL material, there is no doubt that he is probably a Mats Sundin fan - I know I am!
It is good that the Coyotes have re-united the Brothers, and the only question that remains is: when will they sign the third brother, Doug Ekman-Larsson?
