Coyotes Looking at Huberdeau to Address Scoring Needs (Coyotes)

Much has been made about the fact that both Dylan Strome and Max Domi would be leading the Coyotes in scoring, where they still on the team.

Of course this completely ignores that both pieces coming back were injured for huge chunks of time, and that both Nick Schmaltz and Alex Galchenyuk have played excellent when healthy.

Galchenyuk has six goals in his last 11 games, and has been on fire lately.

Enter Jonathan Huberdeau.

Huberdau was mentioned in an earlier Craig Morgan piece, as well as other rumours. The reason is because the Panthers apparently want to go for Bobrovsky and Panarin, and Huberdeau would be the odd man out.

Look, no one ever said the Panthers were a smart or well run team.

Huberdeau would be a great acquisition, and you know it's a strong rumour because, much like Schmaltz and Galchenyuk, Huberdeau is almost impossible to spell.

Huberdeau is 24 and signed for the rest of his prime - another four years - at just under six million. It's a great contract and so clearly the Coyotes would be interested.

This is Huberdeau's seventh season, and he's finally developed into a point per game player, and all his peripheral stats are excellent. He would be the kind of potentially elite scorer the Coyotes can build around.

A team with Keller, Galchenyuk, Schmaltz, Hayton and Huberdeau might be lacking that truly elite Kucherov/McDavid type, but what can you do? It's a great lineup that, if it's ever healthy, could do a lot of damage.

Not sure what it would cost to get a player like Huberdeau, but if the price is reasonable, I'd be excited to see it happen.
