The only good thing about summer - kid's soccer is now done, and that means just one more month until there's one more month until the season starts.
I don't really hate the summer, per se, but I do hate the heat. I don't know how anyone can live in Arizona. I heard it was so hot there they had to shut the airport. That's insane. Give me several layers of clothing and a nice jean jacket any day.
Winter has everything good - hockey, backyard rinks, snow, Christmas, the excuse to stay inside and be a fat-ass, etc. That is, unless you live somewhere where it doesn't get cold - which I just don't understand. I have reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder - if I lived in Arizona all I'd do is listen to the Cure and read Emily Dickenson.
Anyways, I've rambled enough, let me tell you about the reason where all here: I finished the Sopranos. It's a bit bleak when you binge watch it, but damn, it's the greatest artistic achievement that i know of. And I've seen Citizen Kane and read Ulysses . I mean, it's no Suicide Squad, but it's damn good.
And that ending. What a ___ ____. Amazing. We sat there for an hour rewinding it and talking about it. The best ending to the best show ever. To kill off your protagonist, so cold heartedly, in front of his family......the ones who profit from his crimes.......I'd say I'm "speechless" but it's all I want to talk about.
And what's crazy, is I think other than Bobby, I hated ever single character on the show by the time it ended.

So how about those assistant coaches?
The Coyotes hired assistant coaches John Maclean and Scott Allen to new coach Rick Tocchet's staff. I love hockey, but at a certain point, the details get in the way of the fun. I don't know one person who cares who the assistant coaches are, so I'm sure glad we don't have to whack any trees anymore to talk about it.
With dozens of team blogs across the internet, it gets kind of silly the amount of coverage a story about assistant coaches gets.
But those are the guys who will be the assistant coaches.......or is that assistants to the coach?
